these are some of the better photos i took out on a trip to Pulau Redang in 2006, really nice place with white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters (not joking).
will be adding more in the near future.

hi like many times before, the redang pics are way sweet.. but for the monochrome boat, theres little contrast between the island and the boat itself so it distracts froom the main subject... yano yano? cheers!

rule of the thirds will help a lot actually. although it's quite a conventional technique to follow by, it does some magic.

you forgot to state the equipment you're using =)

hi there, thanks for the comment. were you referring to the last pic? actually these Redang photos were taken before i was really into photography and all the theories. they were just taken based on my feeling. haha. and it's also before i got my current DSLR (Canon 350D).

i was using an Olympus (cant remember the model) borrowed from a friend when i took these photos.

i see, nice pictures and a good start. afterall photography is about perspectives, feelings.

the first 2 pictures could be better with rule of the thirds, where the horizon could be framed at the lower third rather than being in the middle. it would give a different feeling. if you can't visualize it, try cropping out a certain portion, one with thirds and one without. ultimately, there're many ways to take good photos, but rule of the thirds is a easy one to start off with.

good luck =)
